Changes to the default site typography coming soon

This week, the typography on Wikimedia sites will be updated for all readers and editors who use the default "Vector" skin. This change will involve new serif fonts for some headings, small tweaks to body content fonts, text size, text color, and spacing between elements. The schedule is:

• April 1st: non-Wikipedia projects will see this change live
• April 3rd: Wikipedias will see this change live

This change is very similar to the "Typography Update" Beta Feature that has been available on Wikimedia projects since November 2013. After several rounds of testing and with feedback from the community, this Beta Feature will be disabled and successful aspects enabled in the default site appearance. Users who are logged in may still choose to use another skin, or alter their personal CSS, if they prefer a different appearance. Local common CSS styles will also apply as normal, for issues with local styles and scripts that impact all users.

Cambios recientes del software

• El 3 de julio se añadió la última versión de MediaWiki (1.24wmf12) a los wikis de prueba y a MediaWiki.org. Será añadida a los wikis hermanos de Wikipedia el 8 de julio y a todas las Wikipedias el 10 de julio (calendario).
• El 1 de julio, CirrusSearch fue activado como el principal método de búsqueda en otras 36 wikis, incluyendo las Wikipedias en noruego (no), portugués (pt) y ucraniano (uk). [1]
• Ya es posible crear fuentes Atom o RSS para la Palabra del Día, la Palabra de la Semana y entradas similares en los Wikcionarios. [2] [3]
• Ya puedes utilizar una interfaz gráfica para editar información de TemplateData en las Wikipedias en inglés (en), francés (fr) e italiano (it). [4] [5]

Noticias del Editor Visual

• Cuando cambies a la pestaña «Editar código», ahora te preguntarán si deseas mantener tus cambios. Ya no necesitarás encontrar la opción en los menúes. [11] [12] [13]
• La herramienta de referencias que añade etiquetas <ref></ref> vacías ahora está en la parte más baja del menú Citar, bajo las referencias que utilizan plantillas como {{Cita web}}. [14]
• Ya no se mostrarán los menúes contextuales sobre los elementos que puedes editar directamente, como las fórmulas, por ejemplo. [15] [16] [17]

Futuros cambios del software

• A partir del 9 de julio será posible renombrar usuarios globalmente (SUL). Esta característica fue agendada para el 1 de julio, pero se retrasó debido a errores del código.
• Se ha preparado un plan para activar CirrusSearch como método principal de búsqueda en los 11 wikis más grandes de Wikimedia. [18]
• Si usas referencias en una página, pronto podrás verlas al final de la página aunque olvides añadir la etiqueta <references /> (o una plantilla). [19] [20]
• Las imágenes en XCF y en blanco y negro pronto se mostrarán correctamente. [21] [22]
• Las páginas de descripción de los archivos SVG pronto mostrarán enlaces de descarga para múltiples resoluciones (ejemplo). Antes, estos enlaces solo se mostraban en archivos SVG con resoluciones originales grandes. [23] [24]

Problemas

• Hubo problemas con la carga de páginas en varios wikis entre el 2 y el 3 de julio debido a un problema de configuración. [25] [26]

Recent software changes

• The latest version of MediaWiki (1.24wmf13) was added to test wikis and MediaWiki.org on July 10. It will be added to non-Wikipedia wikis on July 15, and to all Wikipedias on July 17 (calendar).
• It is now possible to globally rename global (SUL) users. Please go to the username changes page on Meta if you want to rename your account on all wikis. [29] [30]
• You can now read a summary of the Wikimedia technical report for June 2014.
• You can now read the latest issue of the Wikidata newsletter and translate it into your language.

VisualEditor news

• The tool to add templates and citations will now work for templates that include HTML comments or templates in their titles. [31] [32]
• The button to make images full size should now work correctly. [33] [34] [35]
• References will now be shown in the default font size again. [36]

Future software changes

• CirrusSearch will be enabled as the primary search method on the Dutch (nl) and Japanese (ja) Wikipedias on July 14, and on the Polish (pl) and Russian (ru) Wikipedias on July 16. [37]
• The Special:Version page will soon show the exact version of MediaWiki and all extensions installed on your wiki (example). [38] [39]
• It will soon no longer be possible to order printed books of wiki articles via PediaPress. You will still be able to create PDF files. [40]
• Pages that use {{DISPLAYTITLE:''title''}} more than once will soon show a warning. You can use {{DISPLAYTITLE:''title''|noerror}} to hide it. [41] [42]
• Pages that have the list of references added automatically will soon be added to a tracking category. Administrators will be able to configure the name of the category on their wikis. [43] [44]

Savh, cuando lo activas en Preferencias, muestra los códigos en el editorwiki resaltados. Era el editor en el que más se me hacía fácil editar algo; creí que lo habían borrado ya definitivamente.--_(vis-à-vis) 13:24 3 ago 2014 (UTC)

Recent software changes

• The latest version of MediaWiki (1.24wmf14) was added to test wikis and MediaWiki.org on July 17. It will be added to non-Wikipedia wikis on July 22, and to all Wikipedias on July 24 (calendar).
• CirrusSearch was removed as the primary search method from Wikimedia Commons and the Spanish (es) Wikipedia due to a high server load. The plan to enable it on the Dutch (nl), Japanese (ja), Polish (pl) and Russian (ru) Wikipedias was also postponed to a later date. [48] [49] [50]
• The tool that stores information about languages (CLDR) was updated to its latest version. You can still help translate language names into your own language so they can be used in the sidebar and other places. [51]
• Translation memory for newly translatable pages should now offer more suggestions. [52] [53]
• A tool to convert MediaWiki pages to LaTeX is now available on Tool Labs. [54]

VisualEditor news

• Tablet users visiting the mobile version of Wikimedia wikis will be able to use a special version of VisualEditor starting on July 31. You can test the new tool by choosing the beta version of the mobile view in the Settings menu. Feedback is welcome. [55]
• All windows in VisualEditor have now a new design. Main action buttons will always be located in the top bar and will use simple words rather than icons. [56]
• You can now easily open links inside the link editor, for example to see their target. [57]
• Several bugs related to the positioning of the cursor around some items (like images and references) were fixed last week. [58] [59] [60] [61] [62] [63]

Future software changes

• It will soon be possible to watch individual discussions in the Topic namespace rather than whole pages for talk pages using Flow. [64]
• You can give comments about the new version of Winter, a proposal to have a fixed toolbar at the top of wiki pages. [65]
• An IRC meeting to organize Pywikibot bugs will take place from July 24 to July 27 on the channel #pywikibot on freenode. [66]
• A request for comments on how to improve MediaWiki API was re-started on MediaWiki.org. Your feedback is welcome.

Problems

• Mailing lists were broken for about 16 hours between July 14 and July 15 due to a server problem. [67]

VisualEditor news

• You can now create, edit, and view HTML comments in VisualEditor. [68] [69]
• The cancel button in VisualEditor toolbar has been removed. You can still use the Read tab and the Back button in your browser to cancel your edit. [70]
• If you try to use a template which has no suggested or required parameters in TemplateData, you will now be asked to add the parameters. [71] [72]
• You will no longer be able to edit a page if you can't create it, for example on pages protected against recreation. [73] [74]

Plantilla Enobras

Estaba revisando algunos artículos y me percaté de que hay varios que han sido abandonados por sus autores (algunos de años y otros de meses), pero mantuvieron la plantilla Enobras.

Así que agregué el siguiente código para poder categorizar los artículos abandonados:

Muchas gracias, me parece que será útil. He creado la categoría Categoría:Wikilibros:Artículos que no han sido editados en 30 días, y he añadido el "Wikilibros" en la plantilla {{Enobras}}. Cordialmente, Savh (w) 12:55 3 ago 2014 (UTC)

Sugeriría cambiar el formato de uso de la plantilla hacia uno más estricto. Por ejemplo, se podría editar la fórmula para que luego de 30 días automáticamente la plantilla se cambie ha la plantilla de borrado. Tiene varias opciones además de las que se ven a simple vista. Puede autoarchivar los mensajes, la forma en la que se responde a un mensaje es más rápida y efectiva, no es necesario colocar una firma al final de cada escrito y, lo mejor de todo, te notifica al instante cuando alguien ha respondido a un hilo que tú hayas creado o dejado un mensaje.

Recent software changes
