Changes to the default site typography coming soon

This week, the typography on Wikimedia sites will be updated for all readers and editors who use the default "Vector" skin. This change will involve new serif fonts for some headings, small tweaks to body content fonts, text size, text color, and spacing between elements. The schedule is:

• April 1st: non-Wikipedia projects will see this change live
• April 3rd: Wikipedias will see this change live

This change is very similar to the "Typography Update" Beta Feature that has been available on Wikimedia projects since November 2013. After several rounds of testing and with feedback from the community, this Beta Feature will be disabled and successful aspects enabled in the default site appearance. Users who are logged in may still choose to use another skin, or alter their personal CSS, if they prefer a different appearance. Local common CSS styles will also apply as normal, for issues with local styles and scripts that impact all users.

como hacer para descargar el libro completo una vez realizado

hola, tengo un problema, es la segunda vez que me pasa, quiero descargar el libro que arme, para que me quede un pdf y no me deja, se desaparece. y no se descarga. quisiera guardarlo tambien en wiki pero no se como hacer para archivarlo a mi nombre. ayudaaaa!!! saludos maby

Cambios recientes en el software

• El 5 de junio se añadió la última versión de MediaWiki (1.24wmf8) a los wikis de prueba y a MediaWiki.org. Será añadida a los wikis hermanos de Wikipedia el 10 de junio y a todas las Wikipedias el 12 de junio (calendario).
• Ya puedes usar las visitas guiadas en las Wikipedias en árabe (ar), bengalí (bn) y noruego (no). Si quieres esta herramienta en tu wiki, debes traducirla y solicitarla en Bugzilla. [1] [2]

Noticias del Editor Visual

• Ya no deberías poder añadir referencias vacías con el Editor Visual. [3] [4]
• El botón «Utilizar una referencia existente» en la herramienta de referencias ahora se muestra desactivado en lugar de oculto cuando la referencia tiene contenido. [5] [6] [7]
• Ahora verás nuevamente el contenido de las categorías tras guardar una edición en una página de categoría con el Editor Visual. [8] [9]

Cambios futuros en el software

• El 12 de junio se activará de manera predeterminada el Editor Visual en todos los wikis. Se reciben comentarios. [10]
• Podrás utilizar directamente la información de Wikidata en las páginas de Wikiquote a partir del 10 de junio. [11]
• En los wikis que hayan activado la extensión Traducir, los administradores de traducción pronto podrán utilizar la herramienta de migración de páginas para importar al nuevo sistema las traducciones existentes. [12] [13]
• Pronto podrás ver metadatos en las páginas de descripción de los archivos Ogg (vídeo de muestra, audio de muestra). Algunos metadatos con caracteres de idiomas distintos al inglés podrían necesitar ser purgados o codificados a UTF-8 para que se muestren correctamente. [14] [15]
• Las plantillas que contienen las etiquetas <ref> o <references> ya no necesitarán parámetros falsos para prevenir que se guarde la memoria caché. [16] [17] [18]
• Ya no podrás utilizar Especial:Gracias directamente. La página mostrará un mensaje de error cuando la visites. [19] [20]
• Los cuadros emergentes ya no parpadearán. [21]

Media Viewer is now live on this wiki

Media Viewer lets you see images in larger size

The Wikimedia Foundation's Multimedia team is happy to announce that Media Viewer was just released on this site today.

Media Viewer displays images in larger size when you click on their thumbnails, to provide a better viewing experience. Users can now view images faster and more clearly, without having to jump to separate pages — and its user interface is more intuitive, offering easy access to full-resolution images and information, with links to the file repository for editing. The tool has been tested extensively across all Wikimedia wikis over the past six months as a Beta Feature and has been released to the largest Wikipedias, all language Wikisources, and the English Wikivoyage already.

If you do not like this feature, you can easily turn it off by clicking on "Disable Media Viewer" at the bottom of the screen, pulling up the information panel (or in your your preferences) whether you have an account or not. Learn more in this Media Viewer Help page.

Recent software changes

• The latest version of MediaWiki (1.24wmf10) was added to test wikis and MediaWiki.org on June 19. It will be added to non-Wikipedia wikis on June 24, and to all Wikipedias on June 26 (calendar).

VisualEditor news

• You can now drag-and-drop selections of content, not just files and templates. [41] [42]
• When dragging an item, you will now see a line that helps you to drop it. [43] [44]
• You can now only move an image to the start of a paragraph, not to the middle of it, so you don't accidentally split it. [45] [46]
• You will now be warned if you add wikitext to file captions and references. [47] [48]

Future software changes

• You will no longer be able to upload files on wikis that do not have any copyright tags. [49] [50]
• CirrusSearch will be enabled as the primary search method on additional 70 new wikis, including Meta-Wiki and Wikimedia Incubator, during the next week. [51]
• CirrusSearch results will soon take into account categories, the first paragraph and the wikitext of a page. You will also be able to use regular expressions to search the wikitext. It will take a few days for the changes to be enabled on all wikis. [52]
• You will soon be able to watch translations for e-mail notifications without receiving an e-mail when they are reviewed by another translator. [53] [54]
• An IRC meeting to organize old high priority MediaWiki bug reports will take place on June 24 at 17:00 UTC on the channel #wikimedia-office on freenode (time conversion). [55]

Problems

• On June 19, all wikis were broken for about 15 minutes due to a high server load.
• Between June 13 and June 15 there were problems with the scaling of video files due to a configuration error. [56]

VisualEditor news

• Context menus in VisualEditor will no longer flicker and disappear when you insert a new reference, formula, image, etc. [57] [58]
• A bug that prevented relocating items due to cache was fixed last week. [59] [60]
• VisualEditor will no longer scroll to the bottom of the page when you try to edit section 0. When you try to add a formula, VisualEditor will no longer scroll to the top of the page. [61] [62] [63] [64]
• Links to category pages or file pages added with VisualEditor will now work correctly. [65] [66]

Future software changes

• You will no longer be able to upload files on wikis that do not have any copyright tags. [67] [68]
• Toolserver tools will be stopped on June 30. Please make sure to change gadgets that link to the Toolserver to point to Tool Labs instead.
• CirrusSearch will be enabled on June 30 as the primary search method on 34 new wikis, including the Czech (cs), Danish (da), Finnish (fi) and Hebrew (he) Wikipedias. [69]
• All Wikimedia wikis will be using a security method called perfect forward secrecy starting on July 1. If you see a problem, please report it. [70] [71]
• Starting on July 1, it will be possible to globally rename global (SUL) users. [72]
• You will soon see block information when you visit the contributions page or try to edit the user page or user talk page of a user who is affected by an IP range block. [73] [74]
• You will soon be able to use {{!}} as a magic word to produce the pipe character, for instance for use in tables. [75]
